Daft Punk Won’t Play Coachella, But Pharrell Might Be On Their Album

As suspected, Daft Punk’s mysterious Vevo tour date for Coachella seen yesterday may have been nothing more than a trolling by some over-excited Vevo employee (or perhaps ex-employee as of this morning), as a rep for the duo denied the rumor to Rolling Stone today.

The tour date has been removed from the Vevo page and Daft Punk’s rep told Rolling Stone “Daft Punk is not performing at Coachella this year.” Hard to mistake that for anything but what it is.

Meanwhile, reports are surfacing that Pharrell has recorded vocals for three tracks for Daft Punk’s fourth studio LP, Random Access Memories, according to IAmMusic.TV. Nile Rodgers, who has worked on the album, Tweeted the report this morning, all but confirming validity of the report.

Also previously reported to be involved with the album as collaborators are each songwriter Paul Williams, Animal Collective’s Panda Bear, Chilly Gonzales, and Giorgio Moroder.
